One evaluation report
Texas adopts the International Residential Code for one- and two-family homes, and a city building department checks the ICC-ES evaluation report. ESR-1790 covers the Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake and Mediterranean Tile profiles. Standing seam is outside that report and is not offered through Metal Roofing Texas. In the first-tier coastal counties, TWIA's own product and installation rules also apply.
One installer per project
Metal Roofing Texas certifies independent roofing contractors on the system and assigns one to your project. Texas has no state roofing license; the installer registers where the city requires it, pulls the permit, and signs the contract with you. Certified means certified by the manufacturer on this system.
No borrowed proof
This site publishes no project counts, photo galleries or star ratings, because there is no Texas record to publish yet and another region's roofs would prove nothing about yours. What it shows instead is checkable: the evaluation report, the impact listing and the warranty document.

An evaluation report you can look up
ICC-ES ESR-1790 is in the ICC Evaluation Service's public directory. It lists the covered profiles, the fastening and the properties evaluated. Check it before any metal roof goes onto a Texas deck, this one included, and because Texas has no state roofing license, check the installer's certificate of insurance and city registration before you sign.

The Guardian warranty covers splitting, cracking and perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches; read that line carefully in a state that sees larger hail. Any insurance credit is your carrier's decision.
A material warranty that transfers
The Guardian Lifetime Limited Material Warranty covers material and finish for the original purchaser while they own the home, and transfers once: the second owner is covered to 50 years from substantial completion, if the transfer is registered within 60 days with the $300 fee. Workmanship is covered separately by the installer. Read the exclusions before you sign.
