Fire

Class A Fire Rated Available, as a complete assembly

Under section 4.4 of ESR-1790, the shingles and panels are classified as Class A or Class B roof assemblies when the assembly incorporates GAF VersaShield® Fire-Resistant Roof Deck Protection installed in accordance with ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-2053. Installed over a self-adhered underlayment, the assembly is a nonclassified roof covering. The rating belongs to the assembly, not to the panel on its own, so ask the installer which assembly their proposal specifies.

  • ESR-1790 §4.4
  • With GAF VersaShield® per ESR-2053
  • Assembly rating, not panel

For Interlock®, that covers the Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake and Mediterranean Tile profiles. Ask your carrier whether an impact rating affects your policy.
